Our fully certified CSIA ski instructors and CASI snowboard instructors are a great way to learn the joy of skiing and snowboarding. Our instructors are also available to assist with techniques for advanced skiers and snowboarders looking to tweak their skills. Lessons are based on instructor availability and with current Covid protocol. Junior Instructors add extra eyes and hands for our instructors to help enhance lessons when available.

Lift tickets are not included with a lesson, they must be pre purchased at time of booking to ensure one is available. If you are renting equipment please purchase prior to coming to the resort. Please check in at the chalet sliding window at least 5 minutes prior to your lesson time. The resort is paperless. No cash is accepted on site, debit preferred to help minimize expenses for our not for profit resort. Receipts are emailed. Lift tickets, rentals, lessons are purchased on line.

We encourage parents to dress for weather conditions to watch and support your child(ren) outside during their lesson.

New for 2023/2024! Mount Joy Ski Club

The resort aims to build the youth skiing community in Lloydminster and the surrounding areas. This club is designed for youth ages 7-13. The purpose of the club is to bridge the gap from lessons to confident All Mountain Skiers. This is not a lesson based or a learn to ski program, however, encourages skier development across all areas of the hill. Accompanied by a CSIA Instructor, the club will run Saturdays from 10am to 1pm from opening weekend to closing weekend with weekly focused areas of improvement. Learn Skiing or Snowboarding throughout the Winter Season!

What better way to advance your or your child(ren)s skills at skiing or snowboarding.  Mount Joy is pleased to provide ski and snowboard programs for the absolute beginner up to intermediate levels. The beginner school is designed for ages 5 and older, intermediate 7 and older.

Our fully certified CSIA ski instructors and CASI snowboard instructors will tailor group programs to help build on strengths and enhance skills.  We will work with the groups on our bunny hill until progression to the T bar, intermediate classes continue with use of the T bar.  Instructors strive to create a fun learning environment and ways to build friendships with others who love the sport.

Each program is based on five - two hour lessons on consecutive Saturdays or Sundays and are broken up by skill level. Beginner classes will be held in the mornings and intermediate classes will be held in the afternoons. Classes start the second Saturday and Sunday that we are open for the season. Opening day depends on weather and snow conditions. Please remember lesson days are weather permitting as at very cold temperatures it is not safe to be out. Upon completion of the school each participant will be provided with a nationally recognized 'report card' so that you will be able to note your progress.

Snowboard school will have 5 or 6 students per class and ski school has been capped at 6. This may change according to instructor preference and registration numbers. Lesson parents are asked to dress for weather conditions to watch and support your child(ren) outside.
