Lexington - Ski/Snowboard Instructor

Lex a grade Junior High student at Wainwright high school. He has been skiing for 7 years. He started skiing at Mount Joy and now looks forward to teaching others to enjoy the sport.

Landon - Ski Instructor

Landon is a student at DFCS. He has been skiing for the past 7+ years and spent many younger years doing ski school. He enjoys the park as well as both groomed and ungroomed runs. He spent last summer teaching swimming lessons to children.

Trent-Ski Instructor

Trent began instructing as a way to get his children into the sport of skiing and is now on his 8th season as an instructor at mount joy. Over that time he has provided lessons for clients from the age of three up to and into their seventies. If it's your first time strapping on a set of skis or you are looking for a few pointers to improve your skiing Trent will be ready to assist you

Adrian - Ski Instructor

Adrian moved his family to Lloydminster recently. He has 2 children who also love to ski. He has many years of skiing experience, and looks forward to instructing at Mount Joy.

 
 

Gabe - Snowboard Instructor

Gabe has been snowboarding for 8 years. He skied before that starting at age 3. He has rode at Mount Joy for most of his life as can see the hill from his house. Gabe enjoys riding backcountry, trees, and park. He also loves hiking and making jumps in his backyard. He takes trips to the mountains with his family a few times every year. He volunteers at his church teaching kids so has experience with handling and mentoring children.

Brandon - Exclusive TERRAIN PARK Snowboard Instructor

Brandon has years of experience in skiing & boarding. He has turned his passion for terrain parks into his sole instructing commitment.

The required skills to book a lesson are confident stopping as well as turning on both heel & toe edges. These lessons will include park safety properly hitting boxes, rails & jumps. Beginners with the skills listed may book as well as riders who wish to excel in their park adventures. 

Haylee - Snowboard Instructor

Its her first year as an instructor and she has been snowboarding for 3 years. Haylee finds snowboarding really fun and exciting. She loves to play sports and hangout with friends.

Mel-Snowboard Instructor

Mel is a student at Lakeland college. Shes been snowboarding for six years all through out Alberta. She enjoys a variety of different terrains and runs. shes excited to teach the joy of the sport.

Luke - Snowboard Instructor

He grew up in Lloydminster, and become a heavy duty mechanic for a local shop here in town. His wife and three kids all enjoy snowboarding. Luke has been snowboarding for 15+ years and enjoys the sport. He became an instructor to be able to teach his kids and others to get the best ride on the hill that they can.

Jordan - Snowboard Instructor

Jordan has been snowboarding for 6 plus years, and competed for 2 years. She looks forward to teaching this season.

 
 
 

Ski and Board Instructors are Needed!

We would love to cater to our surrounding communities and offer more group and private lessons.

Both are 3 days courses & could end up FREE! Requirements listed below! The closest one is being offered just 2.5 hours from Lloydminster at The Valley! A beautiful countryside hill with amazing seasoned instructors and small town accommodations close by.

We reimburse instructors half of the certification course cost after they have completed 10 instructional hours at our resort and the remaining half after instructing through the season when it is over for the courses offered at the above links. We pay for recertification for continued seasonal instructors. We offer a competitive hourly wage, food vouchers on instructing days, personal season lift pass at Mount Joy Snow Resort with Pass Perks including discounted lift tickets with other participating resorts and discounts at Lloydminster supporters.

Our requirements for instructors: must be 15 years or older, current certification with applicable governing body, ability to structure lessons based on skill level, ability to instruct in group & private settings, instructional availability during regular business hours (Saturdays and or Sundays 10-4 from approximately the start of January until mid March).
